S. 1979 is a companion bill to H.R. 1748 that would require a minimum of a certified conductor and a certified locomotive engineer on freight trans that operate in the United States.

The Railroad Yardmaster Protection Act would cover yardmasters under the Hours of Service Act similar to engineers, conductors, dispatchers, and signal employees. Ask your Representative to sign on as a cosponsor today!​

This bill would require transit agencies to develop safety risk-reduction plans in an effort to prevent operator assaults and to reduce pedestrian-related accidents caused by blind spots.
